Programme Assistant

Duration: Twelve (12) Months

Under the supervision of the Director of Programmes the Programme Assistant will assist in
the implementation of all WIPSEN-Africa's programmes. Namely, Women Peace and Human
Security in Africa, Rural Women Peace and Human Security Initiative, Gender and Security
Sector Reform, African Women Human Security Watch (Engendered Early Warning), Women
in Leadership and Decision-making on Peace and Human Security, Mainstreaming Peace and
Human Security in Gender Machineries, Parliamentary Oversight in Women Peace and
Human Security, Peace Generation, Women-led Non-Violent Elections Campaign, Women
Civic Education and Citizenship, Women and Post-Conflict Recovery, Engendering Transitional Justice Processes, Women and DDRRR, Displaced Women Outreach, and
Women and Natural Resource Management.

Tasks:
• Assist in the coordination and organization of program activities;
• To monitor project implementation and follow up with beneficiaries;
• Support the collection of data and report on programmes;
• Ensure timely submission of reports from the field;
• Facilitate the expansion of partner base;
• Monitor the programmatic activities of WIPSEN-Africa in-country;
• Communicate regularly with partners and develop partners' list serve;
• Assist in the organization of programmes;
• Research to expand donors/funding partners;
• Carry out other tasks as may be assigned.

Requirements:
1. University degree in gender studies, development studies, international relations,
political or social science, international law, or any other conflict, peace and securityrelated
field;
2. Proactive and self motivates
3. Strong team player
4. Ability to work with little supervision
5. Possess good interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
6. Willingness to travel and work outside normal hours
7. Display organizational awareness and commitment
8. Ambitious, open to criticism and willing to learn
