Gender in Transitional Justice Processes

The Gender in Transitional Justice Processes programme is aimed at supporting mechanisms that ensure women's access to justice, reparations and compensation, as well as engage in post-conflict reconstruction. It advocates for an end to impunity for perpetrators of abuse/violence against women and thus is tailored to engage bodies such as the judiciary, association of female lawyers, etc that have oversight responsibilities for dealing with these issues. The primary objectives of the programme are to:
  1. Mobilize support to end impunity for injustices, crime and violence against women and girls during armed conflicts/wars.
  2. Facilitate, through strategic partnerships, women's access to reparations and compensation for crimes committed against them during violent conflicts/wars.
